Why Are Headphones Becoming More Popular?

For once, here’sa simple answer. Headphones are becoming more popular at the same time as portable devices. The more devices get sold, the greater headphones get sold, it really is that simple.

Headphones are useless without gadgets, ergo, if headphones are selling well, it stands to reason that devices are too and vice versa.

The rise of both Tablet PCs and MP3 players includes a lot to complete with this. The iPod’s effects on society have been enormous. When I was little, anybody over the age of about 16 who was wearing headphones and never jogging looked stupid, they looked like some sort of impotent man-child caught inside a desperate try to re-capture lost youth. These odd adults were considered curiosities, due in part to their ridiculous walk, which appeared to parody those of a constipated penguin.

Today naturally, it’s perfectly usual for any person of any age to have an iPod. Even Barack Obama, at the time a Presidential Candidate, revealed the contents of his iPod in the memorable ‘Rolling Stone’ interview. So, with everyone using iPods, headphone sales are on the rise.

Then obviously came the rise in online gaming and with it the rise of gaming headphones. Of course, to properly play online, you’ll need a good set of headphones.

Today, Tablet PCs use headphones, cell phones use headsets, portable gaming devices use headphones, actually, pretty much everything uses headphones. If I can’t sleep at the hours of darkness, I listen to music on my headphones in order not to wake my girlfriend up and I listen to music whenever I go out anywhere, just like everybody else.

Next time you venture out, have a shop around and see just how many of us are wearing haedphones, you’ll probably be astonished.

Headphones inevitably need replacing, which leads inexorably to even more sales. With everybody using headphones all day and daily, it seems those weird looking nerds were onto something, after all.
